My Blank Dice have arrived.

Back in April I had ordered dice from the Blank Dice company in England.  The dice had not arrived other a period of 25 days or so.  I posted on "The Miniature Page" if anyone had ordered from the Blank dice company.  Everyone said they had excellent service from the company.  Angel Barracks sent me an email via my TMP account.  After explaining the problem of not getting any return emails for the company Micheal of Angel Barracks, he would look into.  In space of several hour Micheal email Wayne about the problem.   Wayne was to email me right way.  A day goes by and no email.  Turns out Wayne had a image attached to the emails.  My spam filter detected the image as spam or a virus.  This caused an auto deleted. Luck would have an email was sent to a yahoo account. There is how I discovered the problem.

Wayne sent me a replace on the 14th of May. The package arrived today.  The original is lost in the postal system somewhere between England and the US.  5 stars to Wayne of the Blank Dice company..  I'm making is a habit of checking my spam filter box.

 Now where did I put the stickers for the dice..  Saga in one step closer...

Muskets & Tomahawk has arrived in the mail.

Just as I feared...  These rules look awesome.  With the rules are a deck of action cards similar to the IASM rules.   The rules cover French and Indians war through to the AWI.  Plus the rule have stats for Hessian's...  In the rules they are Mercenaries.  My mind spins with the thoughts of Rogers Ranger, Last of Mohican's and The Patriot.  The simple battle last for 90 minutes.  No scenario planning is need. The game starts with a terrain generator and the type of scenario..  On I have too many irons in the fire...

I recommend Musket and Tomahawk as buy..

Muskets and Tomhawks

Yesterday while trolling E-Bay to find more Saxons for my Saga army. My favorite seller in England had "Muskets and Tomahawks".   In a flash before I knew it I hit the purchase button.  Now I had to find figures for this new game period.  The good new is I am employed again. Thank God for paypal... Married guys will know what I mean :0) 

In the mail yesterday I received my decals for Dom's Decals. Right now I have one Panzer finished and decaled.  Not really to happy with the finish. Hope to get some pictures take today.  As for the Panther I am stilling waiting for the PSC decals to come for the warstore. No decals have slowed my small production line of Armor to a stop. 

Anyone know who makes nice figures for the French and Indian Wars...?

Panther D early version

Okay I have been slow on this one.  The priority for me is to find a job. Well I did in a week I will starting working for GM.  The position is a CAD designer.

Now for the Panther. The old pistol ports had been removed and replaced with smaller ones. As for the other I will make these ports still smaller.  The goal is too make a unit for the Grossdeutschland Division.  Presently I am waiting for Dom's Decals to come in the mail. The Panther needs to be weathers and dirtied up a bit.  More later.

Normans or Bretons that is the question!

Finally got off my butt to take photos.  The paint job on these guys aren't the best. Painted them about 10 years ago. These poor guys have been hidden away in the darkest of basement. Originally I was going to use them for Warhammer fantasy troops.   As I was digging through the mountain of lead miniatures these little guys waved to me.  Hey use us they shouted at me.  Off the shelve of doom they came. 

First thing was to remount them for Saga.  Having bought the base from Architect of war for some Saxon's that are in work.   I removed them from the old square bases.  First was to super glue them down on the new Renedra 25mm base.   Next I super glued some 1 inch fender washes I found at Lowe's Home improvement store.  Okay you are wondering why I did this.  You will see later in the photo's I lined the bottom of the tray with a magnetic sheet. Now the troops won't bounce around.  Now on to the photo's.

One point of Thegns to start my Norman/Bretons unit for Saga.   Next some Hearthguards.

Next Some Crossbow men.  These are all Old glory figures.

Northern Fury

Yesterday my copy of Northern Fury arrived in the mail from Architects of War.  The book follows the same format as the Saga Rule book.  In the rules four new groups have been added.  Ouch these guys are going to be a tough fight.. The Jomsvikings are to me the new tanks on the battlefield.  Next come the Bretons they look like Norman on steroids.  Followed by the Scot let say they don't look like the folks you want to mess with. Last are the Anglo-Saxons again these warriors have some new surprises. 

The only disappointment was that there no stickers for the new Scots.  The dice symbols are unique.   On the Saga broad there is a note that later in the week these will be available for download.   As for the dice we all know it has been a nightmare to get them. The only choice is to make your own.  As luck will have it a Swedish blogger name Daluppror has created a nice set that can be printed on self adhesive paper. 

Now as for the indented dice the best place to get them in from a company in Great Britain. The price is reasonable but shipping is the killer.  But for 25.00 your get 48 dice in your color mix and match so to speak.  Better than the 19.00 dollars a set of 8 from Gripping beast.

The saga addiction continues

After digging through my mountain of completed and unpainted figures.  I discovered I had a Norman warband. The Kite shields are not the best.  May have to order some from Gripping Beast.  Hope to get a some pictures up soon.

The other projects are moving a long. The Panther "D" is painted, just needs to be weathered. Completed some Panzers IV F2's painted in a Gray and Tan for the Russia Front.  The early Stug III F is ready to be primed.  These have been on the back burner so to speak. I was waiting for the decal order from Dom Skelton.  They arrived today in the mail.  Need to post them. If you want some outstanding decals for 15mm Dom is the place to get them.

Saga .. I"m hooked.

Today I attended the Pro  and Con gaming convention in Dearborn Michigan.  The one game I wanted to play was Saga.  Late last year I purchased the rules.  After reading them I want to play them but as life goes no time to play.  Well today I played Saga.  Yes, the game is exciting, fast and bloody.   Playing the Vikings (me) vs the Saxons I thought for sure I would be the victor..   The gods turned their backs on me. The dice where cold as ice.  While the Saxon player could not round any but 5 & 6.   The Saxon had bloody me badly.  I lost!!  It was fun and I enjoy the game.   As soon as I got home I primed my saxons. They are ready for paint. As soon as I get some painted I will post photos.

 The Panthers are in the process of being painted.  At the con I bought more decals from I-94. Those decals scan will be posted.  Dave from I-94 is making some new decal in 15mm. They will be for the Italians.  Plus he has reprint the red with white outline number for the Germans.  Those should be ready for sale by the end of the week. 

Off to surf the internet for more Saxons to buy.  Saga has got me hooked.  Oh Anton took photos the battle.  Keep an eye on his blog.

some Panzer III

Plastic Soldiers Company's Panzer III are great models.  I have build Zevzda Panzer III late last year.  PSC Pzr III is a far better model.  These are base of a magazine I bought several years ago.  Had planed to make a 1/48 scale.  The scheme is sometime in 1942. 

The article from the magazine showed that on the top of the turret was cross or a swastika in a white circle.   All I need to find is red numbers with an white outline.

Making a Panther D model.

The plastic soldier company Panther is a great kit.   The only problem is it doesn't make a correct early D model.  The turret needs a little work. 

The using the drawing above as a guide.   The following has to be done. A two pistol ports, two ports for removing the shell case. This is the large round port on the side. and one on the rear of the turret opposite the escape hatch.

Looks like I need to redo the pistol ports.  They are a little oversize.  Also I the top view you will need to remove the grenade launcher to the right side of the turret hatch.  This is an easy way to back the D model.   Again comments are welcome.

STUG III F continued

Added some photos of the STUG III F that are finished.   Found some FOW Jerry cans to add to the STUG.  Most of the pictures I have or found on line show the rear deck covered with all kinds of supplies and Jerry cans. 

I added some MIG dirt on the side of the hull by the tracks.  Did this to make the STUG a little more realistic.  The decals are are from I-94 which is listed on the side bar.

The picture about are the Early STUG III F with the later STUG III F/8. The early model was based on the Panzer G.  Plus the engine cover laid out is different.  In the lower picture is the early vision slot with the two round  periscope openings.  Again this was take from the spare parts on the Panzer III kit.  After centering the vision slot.  I had to add some styrene on the end.   The machine opening was filled with Super glue.  This is the gap filling type.

Stug III surprise

My friend Anton had challanged me to make a Stug IIIE.  Well here it is..

Used the rear deck of the Panzer III. The short 75mm

gun is from the Panzer IV set.

 What I did is simliar to the Early STUG IIIF.  But for making the E model the upper structure had to changed.  I may make a mold to make some more upper hull.  Think next ones I make I will use the Panzer III kit. This way I won't have to modifiy the lower hull. As one can see it is an easy conversion.

Napoleonic Wargamer

Hope to have some picture up soon on my Stug III.  The Stug III E with the short 75mm gun is almost finished.  Need to make the vision slot in front.  Plus I have a mystery stug also. 

Found this sight a while back.  In the vast pile of  wargamer stuff are some French Hussar (Perry Brothers plastic).  Looks like a found away to Sabretache and saddle rolls.

STUG III/F8 process

Here are a few pictures of the STUG.  The STUG is almost finished.  Going to retake the pictures.  I little bit to close..  On the bad side I was just laid off from my company.  General Dynamic land systems had some big cut back due to the defense budgets cuts. Now I am looking for work.. Anyone need a vehicle designer... 

The early STUG III/F is still in works.  But soon there will be more surprises.  Let say more STUG madness is coming...  Again comments are welcome.

Convert late STUG III/F8 into an early F

I guess I must just be crazy.  But looking all the extra part from the PSC Panzer III set I got a brain fart.  Why not make an early STUG III F.  The it would mean shorten the hull and just the

extra rear engine deck from the Panzer III set.  The engine cover vent run in a different direction.

Next I cut the hull on the late model hull to the correct length. As the early STUG III f was on the G model hull.

Now the rear deck mated to the STUG III  upper hull.

That's all for now.  Got to make the correct vision slot in the front.  Add the extra road wheel to the rear fenders.  Oh for got you need to remove the wood block on the right rear fender. Plus the fire extinguisher on the left rear fender.  More to come later.  Hope I explained everthing well.  All comments welcomed...

PSC New 15mm Panther.

All I have to say is WOW...   And I don't mean the World of Warcraft :).  This so far is the best model Plastic Soldier Company has made so far.  The tracks are so realistic . Now I only wish I bought more.  PSC give you all the parts to make either panther..  Now I just have to finish a few other projects.  The Sherman and 251/D are now hold for now.  Need to order more decals from I-94 enterprises.   Now for the pictures. 

Britsh Shermans for the Desert Campaign

Plastic Soldier Company Shermans are model for the Normandy campaign.  In order for these Shermans to be early models that fought the Afrika Korp they need to be modify. This is an quick fix.  All one has to do is file off the add on armor on both sides of the hull.  This only takes about 5 minutes of careful filing.  The sherman was painted with Life color Portland stone 64 (UA229).  Life Color makes a British desert camouflage set.  After the paint dried over night I weather with AK066 africa korps wash.  Next I used the red brown future mixture only around the equipment and hatches.  This made the features of the sherman stand out.  Next I will add the decals and finish up the weathering.

Plastic Soldier Company 251/D continued

Here is one of the 251/D's weathered.  The weathering consists of a mix of red brown and future watered.  This was to tone down the half track.  After I use AK interactive  D.A.K. weathering set.  The two weathering filters where AK066 Africa Korps wash plus AK067 streaking grime. 

First I applied the redbrown future mix over the whole vehicle.  After this I quickly rubbed the mixture off with an old T-shirt.  Rubbing off the future mixture was to make sure the red brown didn't over power the camo.  Next the Africa Korps wash was applied.  Following the instruction the wash was left to dry about 15minutes.  The final step was the streaking grime.  Carefully I streak on the grime.   Still have a little more weathering to do.  More too come..  I will be added the Fuel cans and some equipment.
