A foot note in history. 78 yers ago my Father landed at Normandy late on June 6th, 1944. His unit was an artillery unit. I remember my father telling his friends that his fired their artillery from their LST. Than landed later. He was 27yrs at that time.
78 years later Paratrooper Robert Heurgue returned to the village of Turqueville, France in Normandy. While he isn’t the soldier in the photo, he was within this vicinity on D-Day. This was Robert’s first time back since WWII
we were all young and bold once, now it is literally a lifetime away
ReplyDeleteThe great generation has all but faded away. They would be shocked with the current government we have today.
