D-Day Easy company attack on the artillery battery

I figure a few readers will agree with me the attack on the German Artillery in Band of Brothers was great viewing.   My understand the attack was later used by the West Point as an example of well excuted plan of  attack.  Over the years I have collected few photos of the battlefield.  It time to share them with my readers and blog followers.   Here you go. I hope these will bring light and information on the fight.

Excellent layout of Lt Winters attack.

This photo was taken shortly after the battle.

3 inch M7 M62 A/T round penetration the Tiger and Panther.

As Long as I be wargame.  There has been this continuous argument of the the US 3 inch A/T round.  Mostly against the round effectiveness.  Which was poor. But was really that bad.  I found this charts the shows the round did well if fire at the flanks of these two tanks.   And surprising at some distance.  Here is the data you decide.  Please note the round is the M62 A.P.C.B.C. type

Magnetizing Thorougbred ship bottoms for storage.

Storing miniature ships has always been a pain in the butt. They fall over, get bashed together and all the things we hate.  Well the fix is using magnetic business card blank.  One side has the adhesive, The other a magnetic surface.  These magnets are for sticking your business card to the refrigator.  That way you can find the repair, the dentist or whomever you need.  We all know how hard they can be to pull off the frig.

Well why know stick this type of magnet to bottom of your pewter ship.  Damn it works great. No more bouncing around while transporting to a game.   Here is how I did it.

These can be found on the internet

Bought a hundred, The leftover will be used on gaming bases

Make sure you flex the magnet flat

Line the ship model and make a line

Next using the ruler scribe a line

Flex the magnet along the line. This will break it in two

Peel off the white backing

stick it on to the ships bottom,  If you are having problems
making the magnet stick, Your best friend is super glue

A little short no proble

keep your scrap piece just for this problem

Stick the scrap piece on, Than trim to fit.

I use steel cookie storage boxes.  The magnets stick great to the surface. Plus the
plastic lid keeps you miniatures dust free.

Battle of Leipzig 1813 in 1/72 scale by Wolfgang Meyer

Battle of the Nations at Leipzig 1813

Cröbern 16.10.1813 around 16:00 o'clock
March of the Austrian reserves near the town of Cröbern. The village had to be crossed to get to the front line in the direction of Markkleeberg/ Schäferei Auenhain/ Wachau.
Several large courtyards in Cröbern were set ablaze by the French artillery.
The pictures show the passage of the Hungarian division Bianchi through the clogged cröbern, or. the march towards Markkleeberg. They were covered by Austrian cures.
The Diorama Cröbern 1813 was presented in the topography with its entire structure 1 to 1. The troop forces were also restored 1 to 1 with their historically proven formations.
Commander-in-Chief Schwarzenberg had ordered battalion column for the Austrian army. An Austrian battalion was approx. 1000 man strong.
Everything on a 1/72 scale

Ironclads modeled by Mark Haught

Mark did a outstanding feat f modeling these Ironclads & Timber clads.   His paint skill are the best I seen in a while.

All colors are Vallejo. The Arkansas and the hypothetical half-built CSS Tennessee are Cavalry Brown. The city class boats are London Grey, and the timberclads are chocolate brown. The decks start life as green ochre and I added streaks with a gradual addition of white to the green ochre

more likely just rusted iron plate. The Arkansas was described as "rust colored" by eyewitnesses, but I've also seen "red brown" in accounts. So as usual for ACW creative licenses are in ample supply for us wargamers!

The Stl files can be found at 3D modelling
