More Doctor appointments

well getting old sucks.  About a year ago this I ended up is a nasty infection in my right leg.  This took three months to clear up on meds. Plus a three day stay in the hospital.   My Cardiologist is going to do a Endovenous Ablation.   Basically he is going to run a wire down inside my leg veins and laser them.  The process only takes about an half hour.   The purpose is to increase the blood flow in my legs.  Joys of diabetes. The blood is not flowing back up the the heart.  So it is pooling in my legs.  The end result if not having this is I could loose a foot or leg...

Maybe it is time to sell off my my gaming stuff. I have gamed or push a miniature in a year.  The last big Napoleonic game was in 2014.  It be just the time to get out of the hobby..

Later.

Life in General for old Sarge

This AM I had an appointment with a lower back specialist. Back in1983 I ruptured 3 lower discs. The Air force surgery told I could not be operated on. I had to bare the pain until I got the time in for retirement in 1995. Having lived with pain so long I hoped to get something done. Boy have lower back in a mess looking at the X-ray plus arthritis is everywhere in that area. Basically the doctor I'm too old to have the surgery to fix. Maybe if twenty years ago the surgery could of took place.. So now everyone should why I have been a crabby S.O.B all these year..

Off to therapy. And better live via chemicals Oh the joys of old age.

Since I'm on Kara-tur here is my fire dragon

Amazing what you can 3d print with the Any Cubic mega X.  The running time was around 3 hours. It took more time to remove the support from the finished print.  Hope to have more photos of the Huns and Hann Chinese I printed.

Kara-Tur Forgotten realms

Flash back to the late 80's.  I was in group of player with my children.  We play this campaign as a couple of the guys where into taekwondo.   Both had just gotten their 1st degree black belts.  For about four years we played this campaign.  Many hours of good times and laughs.  But along came Warhammer fantasy, college for some and life changing events for other.   It is hard to believe that was 30 odd years ago.  Here is a video on the original first release.  My understand Kara-Tur has been re=released in 5e.

My first good 3d resin prints

Finally got the Photn S running.  But the screen quit working.  Lucky for me any cubic any sale special on the Photon Mega X.  What an amazing resin printer.   The next problem was to resolve the type of resin I was using.  The Any cubic grey normal was to brittle.

So I got on you tube to find the best type to use.  The old saying you get what you pay for is so true.  Siraya Tech resin was the answer.   So I did more reseach to find out that if you blend the Siraya fast grey with their Tenaius flexible resin. You end up with the perfect mix.  The prints are no longer brittle.

Here are my prints

1/600 scale ironclad USS CHILLICOTTE

28 mm  Chinese ship cannon

Amazing 6mm?1/285 Terrain

The photos are from the 6mm wargaming and Terrain. The only person I know that is in the same league is my friend Rich Uncle Pat.   Enjoy the photos.

Another very enjoyable trip up to Barnsley to play on Stephen Arnold's fabulous table.
This time John Quick and I were the heroic French and Belgians respectively in 1940.
We managed to manoeuvre into position with the only real contact being my Belgians destroying the head of the German column with artillery and anti-tank guns.
Next time, next time will be when all hell shall be let loose I suspect.
There were also a few unexpected sightings of things that perhaps should not yet be... but those were more for my amusement than anything.

78 years ago Normandy landings

A foot note in history.  78 yers ago my Father landed at Normandy late on June 6th, 1944.  His unit was an artillery unit.  I remember my father telling his friends that his fired their artillery from their LST. Than landed later.  He was 27yrs at that time.

78 years later Paratrooper Robert Heurgue returned to the village of Turqueville, France in Normandy. While he isn’t the soldier in the photo, he was within this vicinity on D-Day. This was Robert’s first time back since WWII
