Barkskins TV show

Last night I watched the first episode.  Great opening with Iroquois raid a small English settlement. Yes it was gritty not the normal TV.   Take place in New France . It is the late 1600's in the new world.  Both the French and English are getting along.  But political greed is starting to rear its head.   After watching I start looking to my Tomahawks and Muskets rule book.  The TV show is great info for a small campaign or just skirmishes.     More later.  Oh Blogger has changed their interface for posting.  Not happy. Now got to figure how it works.

Memorial Day 2020

Memorial day is a time to reflect the loss for fellow veterans. Some died fighting for our country in foreign field, oceans and in the sky. Others survived, only to past from the wounds, nightmares and medical conditions. Agent Orange, cleaning chemical and radiation. Chick Fii A set out a table other falling brothers and sisters. I wish more companies would do this. A picture is more powerful than my words.

When will it stop.

 Yesterday morning on facebook I discover I lost another good buddy.  Jeff Pierce and I worked together at GE transportation in Erie Pa.   Jeff was a manager and I worked as a drafter designing locomotive components.   During the time I worked for GE my family was still in Detroit area.  At Erie I was living alone in small apartment.   Turned out Jeff had an interesting in the Civil and black powder firearms.  This turned out to be a starting point for a great friendship that has last until today.

    Jeff knowing that I would try to go home every other weekend.  So on the off weekend, he would call me to hang out.  The two of us would go to auctions.  In Pa one can find a lot of antique firearms from the civil war.  We would stop at the eagles club for a beer.  And talk. 

  Sadly he will not placing Flags on the graves of Veterans this Memorial day.   This passing of Buddy really hurt this time.
 Update 5/28/2020.  I learned Jeff had a sudden fatal heart attack. He suffered no pain.

Fire forge new Medieval Spanish..

This is the preview of one of the first sets that we will release in the coming days for our Feudal / Medieval Spanish. Here you can see the kit of spanish Light Infantry assembled with javelins / spears. The kit will be in multi-component resin with our plastic spears inside. The pack will contain 12 models that you can assemble with spears, javelins, bows and/or crossbows. Our spanish range will cover the entire El Cid period up to military orders and will consist of several multi-component resin releases and a future plastic kit of almughavars

Awesome.  I really like their figures.   Now they are expanding the figure line I can afford the period.

Passing of another Friend.

This evening I lost another friend  Mike Fetty has crossed over the bridge.  More than likely Guy will be at the over end greeting. Last January Guy was killed in a tragic car accident on I696 in Warren.  Mike and Guy where part of the small Advance Squad leader group I game with.   The majority of us are all old farts.  We do have some young blood. in the group.   The group plays board games along with some 40k. 

   The topic on private blog was the Guy already had a few ASL scenarios picked.  The game board had been aligned ready to start. Knowing Guy, he would say you ready. Let us to who is gong to be the germans.

 Below is a picture of Guy on the right. Mike on the left.  They where playing rune world.  Little would I know this would be the last time I would see them both together.  God Bless you both. Plus pass your morale checks...

Massive Kill Zone battlefield. 3d print

Slow gamers are becoming aware of what can be done with 3d printer.   In the past years of have printed out a Castle (Medieval), Anglo saxon, Viking and Saxon buildings.   WW2 building in 15mm, 20mm and 28mm scale.   Recently a 4 foot ling Samurai castle wall with towers. 

But this Gamer created an awesome 3d 40K city for Kill zone.  It took a couple and  a lot of filament.

Ah the pitfalls of playing ASL

ASL as I'm trying to relearn is very complicated.  So many rule, special rule and  bizarres ones.  Another thing I have noticed is the battle between ASL and SL.   It is like there is one common ground.  But I do enjoy the mental thought that goes into the game. It is like playing chess.

Diehard Miniatures

Just found this company today.  Talk about old school miniature.  These are just like the old Citadel miniature at I love.  Those figure where the best in late 80's onward.  The Dwarves of the period are the coolest ever made.   Damn shame that I found these late in the life.   I hope that other gamers will like and buy them.  These are of the golden age of fantasy gaming.  Link to their shop:DIEHARD MINIATURES

75 years ago WW2 ended in Europe.. Not word in the news about today

The war end.  Father and father in law fought the war.  My Father in Europe. My Father in law in the pacific,  from Pearl Harbor to Okinawa.  They fought for our freedom.   Today we sit at home because of an order by the Governor.  She is clueless right of the people given by the constitution.  So food for thought who really won after 75 years..

SpecOps jagged allinace campaign.

My supreme Governor has decided that we are on locked down until the 28th of May.  Not happy, can't get together with friends to do any wargaming  Lucky for me I found this video on on going campaign using SpecOps.   I have manage to get three games in with this over a total of 2 1/2 yrs.  Still learning the rules.  The game can be fast and furious.  One time you have a bunch a guys. Next turn we are got all KIA.
