Polish Division for Leipzig.

Currently working on the Polish division.   I already have a corp with my older figures.  In the process of updating them.  Ordered some cavalry.  But need to order artillery. Since the group is using smaller base 1 inch vs 1.5 inches.  Just placed an order for 200 1 x .5 bases.  They should be here in a couple of weeks.   Would of ordered the bases from War bases in England, but problem is the hit or miss Postal service of both nations....

Russian Dragoons (Battle honours figure) Project Leipzig

I acquired this Battle front figures off TMP a couple years back.  One of the folks on the site wanted to get rid of his collection of unpainted Russians and Austrians.   These figures make my old heritage Napoleonic's look like dwarves...   The trumpeter needs to be painted.  Plus the command staff is painted but not place on their horses.  Hope you like them.   Please note their not finished be painted.

French Hussars for Project Leipzig

Two Regiments of French Hussars are painted.   But not all mounted yet.  Need to cut some more stands out of styrene.    The regiments are the 7th and 8th Hussars.  The figure count for a regiment is 8 figures

Pictures of the regiments.

More on my project

Having just finished a regiment of Russian dragoons I come to realize the can't paint as fast as I once did.  These fingers are old stiff and hurt.  Just hold the figures in my hand to paint hurts.   Currently the plan is to paint what is primed.  That is why my only Russian cavalry unit was painted.

The plan was to paint my primed Austrian I bought off a guy on TMP.  Well primed figures where a mess.  They ended up in a jar of simple green soap.  Talk about a great why to remove paint.  After two days of soaking the primer was brushed off with a tooth brush.   All figures where clean in hot water.  Now in the next day of so I will prime them. Being Austrians the plan to is spray paint them with Tamiya Flat white paint.  Put a blue grey wash on them to bring out the details.

I hope I can get them painted by July, really not sure if I can do it.  On the bench is my IDF that's needs to finished.   A 1/48 T28B Trojan trainer aircraft I need to get done for a IPMS contest in May..    One thing for sure it sucks getting old...

Leipzig April 12th update.

The battle is on for the July.   Today I ordered from Paper Terrain a small European Village #2.  Along with a Farm complex.  The building are in 15mm   Paper Terrain makes some nice foam back buildings.  The part I like is that I can use them for WW2.

To get into the Spirit of the up coming battle here are some pictures from last years 200th anniversary of the battle of Leipzig

IDF M113 made from Battle front Vietnam models

In between the Leipzig project I have been worked on my M113's for the Yom Kippor war.  Just a few modification made.  Adding packs borrow from PCS M3 Half tracks to hang off the side of the M113.  Next I made side racks that the IDF added to haul extra equipment. What I need now is some use guitar stings to turn into the exhaust covers.   Today I will start painting the M113.

Small Leipzig update more cavalry in work

Tonight I started painting two hussar regiments, french lancer regiment, and a dragoon regiment.  Also primed about 4 battalions of Old Guard.  The Plan is to the French in small groups.  Next I will dive into the French line units.  Plus look for units I have painted at are somewhere in the Dungeon.

Looks like I started a Heritage Nappies feeding frenzy on TMP.  After I post picture of the cavalry folks pirated my thread to sell Heritage Napoleonics.   Maybe I should dig into my collection to see what I can sell off..   Friday I hope to post some finished infantry units picture

Project Battle of Leipzig in 15mm

The group I game with, is in the planning stages to do the battle of Leipzig.  The battle is to fought several small battles that will lead up to the big battle.  Rules at this time are Old Trouser, but subject to chance as we go on?

My plan is to document my progress on the troop I have on hand.  That is currently French, Austrians and Russians all the old heritage figures.  It amazing what a person can find when digging through the mountain of painted and unpainted figure.  The scary part is these figures where purchased in the late 70's and early 80's..   At that time the old group was using Empire 2 rules.

When Lasalle came out I got the bug to play Napoleonic's again.   I fell into a trade for huge box of Heritage figures French and Austrians still in their packs.   Trade was for my civil war heritage figures all painted...

Now for some first picture.  The poor troops have been hidden away in the dark dungeon for 30 plus years.  They have been re-based two years ago.  Why because the poster broad bases just died..
