More of my adventure in Vietnam Rocket attack

 It was July 1969.  The VC had dug in the Mountains about the Airfield.  They pounds for 4 days.  We could not find their launch place.  Turn out the smart bastards had camouflaged with a moving top. The Marines found the launch pit.  Then called in the A4's with loads of Napalm..  That did the trick.  Photos are from a Marine friend.  The rocket most of them over shoot my area.

My adventure from 1968 to 1970 in Southeast Asia.

 I was in country Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.  Served in the Americal Division based out of Chu Lai. Chu Lai was a Marine Corp airfield built for close support.   It was quite a busy place with A4 Sky Hawks, F4 Phantoms and late A6 Intruders.   These provide close air support to the Marine and Army.  If your unit called for air support they where in 10 to 20 minutes..   Here is an example of my home during that time. This belong to the Marines.  But are same are mine.  All the buildings had been built by the Navy Seabees,'

C-rations and Lrrp's explained

 Great video by Eric Hollenbeck.  He goes in depth on the Ration issued during Vietnam. My experience was all C-rations.  No LRRP's for my unit.  Eric talks about using C4 to cook with.   We how take the claymore's part because of the C4.   Hard to believe that was over 50 yrs ago.

Cinco Da Mayo 1970 Chu Lia RVN,

Talk about having a wild 5th of May.  The VC helped us celebrate that day in 1970. They delivered us not beer but 122 Rockets.  I had forgotten this until I was the picture on a VMA site that I belong to. The FB is about Chu Lai and units stationed there.   So much for beer.
