Coming soon this Winter from Zevzda

Looks like Zevzda is releasing a Panzer Mk IV this coming winter season.  From the pictures it looks pretty nice.  But a little late to the 15mm scene as the tank is pretty covered by other companies.

Battleground by Easy Eight WW2 miniature rules

Not sure how many people remember this game. Let alone if they played it.  It was a awesome game for me. A little role playing , good mechanics just plain fun.  Found a yahoo group that posts on the game.  My intent is post what I can on the game here to see if there is still interest.

History on the game:

From what I recall the rules where written by two guys.  One of them was killed in a accident. That pretty killed that game.  Next the only way to get the game was on a CD.  Lots of people back in the 90's didn't like this change.
Currently available from Syr Hobbs Wargames :Syr Hobbs Battle ground rules

If you have any info or wish to share you experience with the feel free to post.

Having bought this paint set for my 15mm and 1/72 tanks.  I found these paints a pain in the butt. Couldn't get the paint to spray correctly.  I found this video.  Believe I found my answer.  Maybe you will too.

Project Leipzig buildings

Last weekend I was busy assembling buildings.  Most are 4ground laser cut MDF building.  Earlier in the year I won  an eBay auction for a church, two story painted building and a 4 story apartment building.   The Russian houses I purchased off the net from Noble Knight.   Noble Knight sometimes has some great sale.  Plus Dzur's eBay store, which has some greatly reduced price sales.

The church itself took a couple of days to do.  Sections have to be glued and set over night before more pieces can be added.   Now I some building for the battle. The wooden Russian homes are not as easy. Mostly because of the next interior walls.  At one point I felt like a needed an octopus to hold all the side together.  At a later day I plan to make bases for the Russian homes.   Enjoy!

 Russian houses

 Medieval  house and block apartment
 Two story building
 Church

Mdf laser cut building are great.  Assembly quickly with very little headaches.  Next I have to assembly my paper buildings.   I hope there is enough time to finish them also.

More KV's

These are the early model KV-1 with the early 76mm main gun.   Fun to build. Anton did an excellent review of  the kit.

Here is the linkhttp://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2013/06/two-beauties-from-zvezda-1100-scale-kv.html

The Russian Monster KV-2 with 152mm gun

Zevzda released these beasts early in July.   The kit is another easy to build model.  It took less than 10 minutes to assemble.  These tanks stuck fear into the German Panzer Corp. Can't imagine  rolling into a Russian village to find this Monster parked at the cross roads in the center of the village.   One picture I recall is of a KV-2 with it turret peppered with 50mm shells stuck in it.  The Germans use these tanks until the end of the end.  One photo showed a KV-2 in defense of a factory in Germany again the US Sherman's.. Wonder what the Sherman tankers thought.  :(

The KV-2 still need some weathering.  Got to find my formula for mud. This tank just begs to cover in mud..

Hope you like them

Zevzda sfkz 222 Armor Car

Zevzda keeps making outstanding WW2 armor vehicles.  The Sfkz 222 is a sweet little model.  But a nightmare to put together.  After about 8 of them I realized if cut the back two attachment points off.  I could assembly the sides and top together.  That got rid of the gap problem.   Now for the Pictures.

Kicking the heat with my Flame Panzer III

Another great 1/100 model from Zevzda.   The construction part was about 5 minutes.  Built these when the BA-10's started to drive nuts.  As for the build part check out Anton's site;http://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2013/02/spending-afternoon-with-some-russian_10.html  He did a excellent review.

My Flame panzer's are pattern off a pattern found on the web.  The panzer is vallejo panzer tan set.  The Red Brown is from Tamiya's Hull Red.  Both paints spray well.  This make my life easy when spraying the red brown.  Decal's are  mix from Dom's Decals and I-94. Both companies make excellent products.  Now for picture:

They still need to be weather a little.  The track on the front of the hull came from some spare track off the PSC Panzer III kits.   Waiting for PCS late Panzer III to be released.
Thanks for taking a look.

BA-10 in German service

Decided to do a BA-10 captured by the Germans.  Found this camo scheme on the web.  Figured I need a little extra firepower for my Sfkz 222 section.

For a review on the BA-10 check out this http://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2013/02/pending-afternoon-with-some-russian.html
My friend Anton did an excellent review on the Zevzda BA-10.

Now for the pictures...
