US gi's battle at Point Brocard July 1944

 In 1944, the U.S. Army briefly employed the two-piece M1942 herringbone twill camouflage uniform, worn by elements of the 2nd Armored Division, including the 30th Infantry Division and 17th Engineer Battalion. The generally accepted story is that the uniform was quickly discontinued in early July after GIs were mistaken for camouflaged Germans and fired upon by their own troops, sometimes with tragic results. However, there is photographic evidence of the uniform being worn well into the later stages of summer. And of course, we know that Sgt. Saunders kept his helmet cover throughout his campaign on the old Combat television show.

D-Day Easy company attack on the artillery battery

  I figure a few readers will agree with me the attack on the German Artillery in Band of Brothers was great viewing.   My understand the attack was later used by the West Point as an example of well excuted plan of  attack.  Over the years I have collected few photos of the battlefield.  It time to share them with my readers and blog followers.   Here you go. I hope these will bring light and information on the fight.

 Once you see the opening that easy company charge across you will be shocked.  It is great to see young people picking up the torch to show people the battlefield

Memorial Day 2020

Memorial day is a time to reflect the loss for fellow veterans. Some died fighting for our country in foreign field, oceans and in the sky. Others survived, only to past from the wounds, nightmares and medical conditions. Agent Orange, cleaning chemical and radiation. Chick Fii A set out a table other falling brothers and sisters. I wish more companies would do this. A picture is more powerful than my words.

Easy Eight M-16-1 Hit/Damage chart.

Found one chart I missed.   M16 was an Anti-Aircraft half track.  That turned out to be devastating to infantry targets.

This tank was used by many nations in the 60's and 70's   A small but very fast anti tank gun.

 US Army tank destroyer.  When the M-10 was up gunned with the 90mm gun. The tank destroyers had something to defeat all German armor.  The M-10 was used by the British but upgunned to the 17lb british anti tank gun.
