Last past weekend as Spartacon was being held. There was a bolt action con going on in Southgate. Also I learned that a new game hobby shop is opening in my area shortly, After living in this area from 1973. There has been a boom in hobby shops.
And the first Forces of Freedom event is in the bag.
What a great weekend! new faces, new Scenarios, Fantastic Terrain! The VFW Hall that hosted us was amazing and so very happy with us - The Club (Special Thanks to Jill Thiel) made up all sorts of delicious food for us! Some Veterans came by and checked out our games - and were really impressed.
Our players were amazing, of course as well. Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy their time. (My friend requests blew up this morning. lol) Folks brought their tables for table competitions both days!
And of course, Staff was amazing too - Cracker Jax did an amazing job on Admin for the event! Paul Long came in from Chicago to run Demo games of Bold Action, Victory at Sea, and Blood Red Skies for visitors.
We're already planning for Forces of Freedom 2025 - which should be tentatively January Jan 18th & 19th, 2025. Pencil it in!
