SAGA German Grand Melee

 Great to see that SAGA is this going strong in Germany.  It seems the SAGA has all but disappeared in the U.S.  Specially in my area in Michigan.  Enjoy their FB post and photo.  I love the building that they have used for the tourament.

SAGA GERMAN GRAND MELEE - UPDATE

Regarding this year's Grand Melees, there is crucial news. Due to the opaque sect entanglements of the owners of Graefenthal Monastery, we are distancing ourselves from this event venue. We had no knowledge of the entanglements in the background at the time we chose the beautiful monastery as a location for this year's Grand Melle.

Definitely a pity!

Good that there are so many beautiful historical locations in Germany. And so we can inform you that after 5 years there is a return to the Oerlinghausen open-air museum.

So we're going to play SAGA in a real viking longhouse again.

The date has already been set: 6. -7. August

Participants: 32 (more don't fit in)

Eras: Vikings (incl. Skraelingers), Invasions, Crusades

5 games (3 Saturday, 2 Sunday)

Army size: 7 points you choose from 6 points per game

No legendary units

Mercenaries according to the soldier matrix

At the time we chose the beautiful monastery as the location for this year's Grand Melee, we had no knowledge of the involvement in the background.

One of the greats Bob Letterman passed.

 I just heard about the passing of Bob Letterman. If you are as old as me, you certainly knew about his amazing super-dioramas. Letterman works were the stars of many publications in late 80's/early 90's, and surely inspired a whole generation of modelers and miniature aficionados. Payne, Pruneou, and now Letterman... my heroes are retiring forever.

Moon Knight mask

 Last week I got a new printer.  I purchased a Any cubic Kobra max. The machine is a monster.  Now a can print buildings and terrain without splicing them up.   The total time was 48 hours.  The moon knight is now living at my Daughters condo.

Bummed out.

 It now close to a year since I played a game.  It is like the gaming goda have abandoned me.  My Advance Squad leader has gone underground on me also.   I only find out after the fact of their quarterly game fest.  Looks like I pissed off a certain founding member.  And have been black balled.   

  The ASL group has got smaller with the death of several member as we are older than dirt.   I am focusing on 3d resin printing.   Just finished a Moon Knight mask. A Roman wooden wall Fort.  

Hope to start selling off a lot of my finished ww2 20mm & 15 mm buildings in the near future.

Allied Cavalry command frame in!

The Napoleonic Allied Cavalry (Prussian and Russian Dragoons) command frame has just arrived from Renedra. Although we have just the first shots, they’re looking good with only a few tweaks to do before they’re ready for production.

Now we have the last frame done, we will put the set up for pre-order next Monday, with a release date a few weeks after that.

As you can see there’s quite a bit on the frame in order to cater for all the uniform/troop variants in this set.

Alan has finished the painting guide, which turned out quite extensive like the last French Infantry set; an A3, four-folding sheet. There will be another post next Monday with the special metal deal figure and possibly painted examples of the set.
