Another set of rules laying about in the file of rules. Sharp Practice to me looking like a interesting game. The group I play with uses 15mm only for Napoleonic's. But I had jump on to 25mm Plastic by Perry Brothers and Victrix. This before I got into the group. Now I have Chosen. To me Chosen looks a little like Sharp Practice. Hope to do a small review on Chosen at a later date. Now for the videos.
Part one
Last night some time I hit 85k in views on my blog. This is after 5yrs plus of blogging. Not very impressive by other blog standard. This was my best year 35K in views. Not many comments tomy posts. Guess I will keep blogging for another year. If anyone has suggestions to make my blog please post them. Also many thanks to my 47 followers.
Hard to believe I had this rule set for 4 yrs. The sad part is I haven't played them yet. Plus all the miniatures I collected just for this game. 75% are painted... bummer now for the video.
Found this on the web. This will give you an idea as to what color the uniform was for certain periods of the cold war. Currently I'm painting my troop for the early cold war period. Looks like I'm good up to 1990. Images are by joerg-thamer
Found these prints of Russian Medieval knights. Since my friend Anton has bought these knights I would post the prints. It would be a great guide for him to paint them. Now for the pictures.
I'm posting this as reference for painting the rifle. This should give good idea what colors to use. According my friend who owns one. The rifle kicks like a mule when fired...
I am adding this blog to my list. Ministy of Gentlemanly warfare Because this blog cover Blood eagle, Daisho and In her majesty name. The authors of these rules created this blog to cover their rules set.
Currently I own all of these rule sets. I have found to be quick and easy to play. So check out their blog.
Here is my Pom Pom on its base. Hope to take a picture of the finished base and crew in the next few day. The model is very well made. The detail on the gun itself is impressive....
These are made by Artizan design. The company makes some really nice NWT figures. Peachy, Danny and Billy Fish. Need to finish up the bases with static grass.
As of late I have been neglecting my Bundeswehr. As I posted before my plan is to make an early force. Someone told that they didnt believe the Luftwaffe used their F-104s as fighter bombers. Here is the proof. Some where on pile of to do list is several f-104s'
Here they are. Not a hundred percent finished. But I wanted to should that I am really painting and modeling.
Personally I like the warlord plastic figures over the Perry Brother plastic. But if I could afford it I would only by Perry's lead figures.
Perry Brother Plastic
Perry Brother lead Highlanders
Warlord's Colonial troops
Hope you like the troops. Now back to the dungeon to paint all the white belts.
Check out The miniature mans blog. Paint rack The paint rack can be purchased from Warbases in the U.K. This is the company I use for all my MDF bases.
This afternoon my 37mm Pom Pom gun arrived in the mail. It is a very nice model. The crew is made up of Lady Sailors. Found the Hinterland miniature while searching the web of the Pom Pom. These models are well sculpted by Paul Hicks. The gun is a very nice with lots of detail. If your'e wanting a Pom Pom check out Hinterland Miniatures. Where are those bloody Boers....
Here are some plans for the South Africa British block houses. From reading about the block house, the building would have 7 to 8 soldiers and one sgt. There would be four supporting block houses near by 1000yds. An Officer would be in charge of the four block house. Hope to provide more detail later. All the house would have a barbwire field in front of the them to stop the boer's from getting to close to the build...
Now for the good stuff the plans.
Here is a large Fort called Jensenville. The Fort you will see had many firing ports. An complex interior of fortified walls. At one time I believe the interior had a corrugated roof. This seem the these iron roof help make the Fort and Block house fire proof. Tomorrow, I will post the plans for these buildings. Most Block house are 20' x 20' square two to three stories high.
