Wonder what Old Glory casting facility looked like?

Here are the picture the Russ Dunaway posted on face book.  Know I know where all my money went...lol..

Here are three photos for you to look at where tons of Napoleonic toys in four scales are born.
1. One is the outside of the Old Glory factory where for the last 30 years we have sent out literally millions of little army men to all the good little wargaming boys and girls.
2. A shot of just one of the casting rooms after the crew left for the day with stacks of sprues full of cool little army men.
3. Faithful shipper Connie, being given a hand ( or in this case a paw) from midnight the shop cat and mouser-- that Teresa Gregory ( the resident Old Glory tech wizard) rescued about 9 years ago -- preparing just a part of of "Big Andy's" of Old Glory UK shipment of cool shiny toys for all the good people across the not so small pond.
Hope you enjoy !!!

Old school tactical - Squad level combat game

The game has been out since about 2016.  The company is called Flying Pigs.  I play Advanced Squad Leader.  The ASL series is a complicated broad game.  The easiest comparison is like playing a game of Chess.  As for me haven't not played the game since the early 80's. I'm bsacially the meat in the sandwich so to speak.  Now come Old School Tactical as bend of Panzer leader and ASL.  The video explain the game better than I can.    You can find it here. Old School Tactical Vol 2

Normandy Maps

This will take to a satellite view of Normandy Satellite Map of Normandy

How tall where the hedgerows in Normandy

Last year, my wife and I did a tour of the beaches in Normandy.   The tour guide pointed out that the farms in Normandy had a unique style if buildings.  But the interesting part was that the current hedgerows are only 50 some years old.   When the war ended the French government decided to remove all the hedgerows.  Why they said the hedgerows impede the modernization of the country side.  Later it became apparent why the hedgerows important to Normandy, wind soil erosion.  In the 50's the wind had stripped off most of the good top soil.  The farmer couldn't grow the food.  It become like the dust bowl of Oklahoma.  Don't make your hedgerows to small.

Here what a hedgerow should look like.

6th June 1944 75 years ago Beaches of Normandy and Saipan

June 6th. The day we landing in Normandy. On the other side of the world there was an island called Saipan. That Americans where landing on that beach also. Saipan would be the Key stone to end the war with Japan. Father landed on Omaha breach late in the day with artillery unit. They had been firing of their landing ship to support the troops on the beaches. Mean while my father in law Gil was clear the beaches of Saipan Japanese defense obstacles. Later he would build the arming pit for the atomic bomb. But never knew what would be the use of what he called a stupid hole in the ground. Normandy was a great event in history. Please also remember the troops the landed in Saipan on this day also. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧
