The IDF over the year had modified the M113 to match the needs of the IDF.  Pretty amazing to see all the different types.  As for me I'm still slugging away with them..

Mom what color should my Sagger 3 be?

Well since I'm on this cold war craze lately. My burning question was what is the color of a Sagger Anti missile. After doing some research Saggers are like Easter eggs they come in all colors.  Green, black or silver.  With the explosive end in a array of colors.   Looks you can paint these little bringers of tank death in your favorite color.

How tough is a Tiger tank armor?

From the pictures below I would say pretty darn tough.   The round is a 17lb shot the didn't make it through the armor plate.  I would bet the crew near that didn't survive.

Make you own Longship

Black Magic craft has a great video on making a Long Ship.   It can be use for your Viking or D&D games.   Yes D &D adventure one meet numerous nasty creature.  That is why I hate trips on ships...lol.   The only down side is the you will need a hot wire scroll saw.  But if your handy a good old x-acto knife will work...  Here it the video.  So pull up your chair.  Get some Popcorn...  Enjoy.

Battle of waterloo in 6mm

Now this gentleman has 250,000 of these tiny troopers for the battle.  He has spent an lot of time and effort doing this.  My Hat is off to him for trying to recreate the battle.

Some more picture.  The HS 30 was a failure for the Bundewehr.   It the third picture below. The only way the engine could be removed was from below.  The military had to made special engine removal pits. 

Battle front Jagdpanthers and conversion to early models

 I bought some of  battlefronts new Panther/jagdpanther  sets.   I was really surprised how nice they are. Plus being all plastic make the model open for conversions.   Having left over hulls from my PSC Panthers I noticed the rear deck might fit on the new Battle Front models.   It worked with some careful trim and cutting.  The deck plate was grafted on. Next was to sand the barrel down for the early model.   The conversion didn't take long time wise.  But I have a nice additional to German forces.

 The sinks marks in the side shirts are deep.  I punched out 3mm dia disks

Next project Bundeswehr M48's

Just received some Battle front M48's.  This the Arab vs Israeli set.  The IDF received a lto of their M48's from Germany.  Plus this comes with both the  90mm and 105mm cannon barrel.   The early German M48's where the gasoline engine type.   Later they Bundeswehr upgraded them to diesel power.  Hope have them finished in a couple of weeks.

 

Cold War Soviet BRDM-2

 Old Glory is the only source for BRDM-2's.   They not cheap plus old glory charges your 8 bucks for handle.  Shipping is another 6 bucks.  The models are rough.  Lots of pits on the surface of the model. Metal shrink everywhere.   After lots of prep time, filler, numerous coats of prime one can have a nice models.     I used the Vallejio Modern Soviet paint set to paint the BRDM-2.   It would be nice for someone to make a new model.  These would sell for people playing Yankee team.   Let me know what you think.

Hamburg Tactica 2016

The is an amazing convention held in Hamburg Germany.   The games and terrain is top notch. I have been following the event for several years.  Every year the convention grows and individual events more details.
