Wow Batman, while digging through the cave I found these long lost Samurai Clan charts. Too me it looks like Saga has set sail in the U.S. I hardly see any new article on Saga in the blogs. Not sure it this is because of Saga V2 or just a decline in interest. This could spur some interest in dusting off our horde of Samurai's . Please note no special dice required.

It is with tremendous sadness that I must report the passing of the hugely talented sculptor and great friend of not just me but all of the Lard Island crew. Sadly Richard passed away on the 11th of February due to complications with an old injury. On the way to have exploratory surgery to repair old wounds, he suffered a heart attack from which he did not recover.
Richard was a tremendously talented sculptor who in an age of ‘heroically proportioned’ figures, developed his own far more anatomically correct style. His work over the years was voluminous, sculpting ranges for companies such as The Assault Group, Fife & Drum Miniatures, Crann Tara Miniatures, Warlord Games, Hasselfree Miniatures, Brigade Games, Rif-Raf Miniatures, Minden Miniatures and even some of the limited edition figures produced by TooFatLardies.
As well as appreciating Richard’s attention to detail in his sculpting, I am most fortunate to have been a regular gaming friend. His interest in military history was matched by his sense of fun; his quiet, well-considered and understated wit made him many friends and his departing will leave an empty chair in the Lard Island Mess which will not be filled again.
These are, of course, very difficult times for his wife, Coral. Richard’s work bench was understandably full of projects but with so many other issues for her to attend to, I have made contact with the companies who we know Richard was currently working for. However, this may not be everyone. If Richard was undertaking work for you and you need a point of contact, then emailing me at TooFatLardies via our web site will allow me to act as a conduit when the appropriate time arrives.

On an off for the last couple of years I have been playing Close Action Naval battle. The rule are a great set of rules. The battle is realistic, to the point your can smell the black powder in the air. This is for my buddy Anton. Also stay tune for some new information and charts for the game.

As you already know line of sight is the most important tool in ASL.
Well my buddy Anton's has pushed in the 1/600 scale ships. After seeing his awesome ships. I just had to have them. But as luck would have I found a complete series of ACW ironclad... Damn, they in 1/600 scale. Saved me a pile of cash to. Maybe we could do the battle of Mobile Bay..
Hope the folks the are following this series are picking up some tips. I have found the series useful in setting up a game via Vassal. Now I need to track down another player.
As you are reading this more than likely you are a ASL players. Like many of us today are solo players. The reason could be covid, lack of asl face to face players or no one you know is interested in the game. Hope this will get the spark going to play ASL again.
A lot time the complete game board is not used do to the scenario. Here how it is done in VASSAL.
For folks that do not know about vassal. It is great way to play solo or remote games. There is almost and endless list of game one can play. This tuitional will show you how to setup any one of them.

Looks like I got sucked into another medieval set of rules. Looks like rampant lion. According to the video the game will be a simple skirmish game.

Exploring the 3d printing of the Star Wars World. I found this amazing print on thingiverse. Plus I need to test run some new filament for another project. This was a great 3d print to test out the limits on my ender 3 v2.

Only the second day in office we have more restrictive travels rules. Everyone need to wear masks. You cannot travel to another state without a mask. This just Freakin madness. I been wearing the God damn mask for close to a year. It is a failure
Now forget about international travels. Here is the CDC rules are of today. No England or Viking cruise for me. As you have to be tested three before returning to the US. Hope the Biden supporters are happy.

A while back my buddy Anton pickup a nice selection of Thoroughbred Miniature Ironclad. Diging through my stash of boxed gaming I found my Yanquito Ironclads Board game. I you have been following my blog I print out 1/100 scale CSS Virginia class ironclad. Currently my Ender 3 V2 is running the monitor. Will on RPG print service I discovered a set on ACV ironclad in 1/600. Now I have to check the size of these prints to Thoroughbred models. I discovered this video on Bay Area Yards. This company also make 1/600 ship. Check out the view.

76 years ago the Battle of the Bulge was winding down. December had been pure hell for the Allies. The German came close to pulling off the gambit to cut off the Allies armies. Why I am I interested you say. Because my father Paul Vikar was one of the survivors' of the battle of Bastogne. All I know is that he was in a Heavy Artillery unit. A little bit of what happened. As my father and his buddies would talk about on memorial day weekends. For year we would get together with buddies from the Old neighborhood in Detroit at the his one friends farm. It seem Labor and Memorial days comes to mind. There would talk of fighting in Africa and Europe. When the beer started to flow so did the stories.
This is my tribute to those men who fought to create the nation I grew up in during the 50 and 60's. More stories later. Now the video.
This is a video on the new 1/72 WW1 German U-Boat. From what I can see the kit is pretty awesome.
This Ironclad is from the 3d terrain ACW set. The model was reduced for 1/72 to 1/100 scale. There are a couple of steamer that can be converted to Tinclads. As one can see I have been busy making items on printer.
Yes I have to be a little crazy. This was a 4 day plus print on two printers, As you will see in the photos the Junk is quite large. The Junk has another ship to battle against. This ship is a Korean Turtle ship. Just have to put the ship in the que for printing. Need to paint and make the masts for the Junk. Along with the cannons. I can see this taking up and convention floor for the battle, Like the one at Lansing con a few years back. Now to the pictures. I you like what you see here please click on the follow button. Everyone has gone crazy over the Djin Djarin wicked pistol. The amazing it is a real pistol call Bergmann No 1/1894.
The Bergmann 1896 was a 19th-century semi-automatic pistol developed by German designer Louis Schmeisser and sold by Theodor Bergmann's company.[1] A contemporary of the Mauser C96 and Borchardt C-93 pistols, the Bergmann failed to achieve the same widespread success, although Bergmann himself later went on to design one of the earliest practical and successful sub-machine guns, the MP-18.
The first cartridges in Bergmann pistols were grooveless, with the bullets having a sharp nose to avoid jams. Later pistols, however, have mechanical extractors and cartridges with grooved flanges. The M96 had an internal box-magazine holding five cartridges. [2]
