Flame of War Hohei gun machine type 92. Want to see the real one in action.

Flames of wars just started releasing Japanese troops.  The new book is called Banzai. The type 92 was a deadly HMG.  It has some flaws. It jams when the ammo is dirt.  Tends to have rounds go off that are not fully chamber.  The video above give you an idea what it would be like on the receiving end.  At the end of the video there is a 10 shot group in the target which is about 2 1/2 inches at a 100yds.  As side note my father in law serviced in the Pacific.  All he told was that it was hell going up against machine guns. But Bulldozer's worked the best against them.

Remember charging into a Type92 can make you have a very bad.   More to come.

PCS newly released Opel trucks in 15mm

Okay I know I have not been posting my work on the blog lately.  In the works are Gripping beast Saxons most are painted by need a little more painting.  It has been like hitting a writer block.
The new Opel truck got the painting desire flowing again..   The first batch of trucks are painting.  In the que for weathering.  Before that decals have to put on.

There are variants in the process also.  But you have to wait until later.

Review overall I give them a report card of "A".  You will be able to make either a Opel or Mercedes L3000. The picture on the front Box shows  Ford..Nope.  That was the only big disappointment.  But the photo instructions are very vague. No place in the picture show the location to place the spare tire.   Same goes for the fuel can.  Looks like I need to do a little bit of googling.....
Oh don't forgot to leave comments please.

Now for the pictures.

49 years today the Six-Day War started

Six-Day War, also called June War or Third Arab-Israeli War, brief war that took place June 5–10, 1967, and was the third of the Arab-Israeli wars. Israel’s decisive victory included the capture of the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, Old City of Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights; the status of these territories subsequently became a major point of contention in the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Hard to believe October 1967 I was drafted into the U.S Army.   By March 1968 I would be in Vietnam fighting the VC in I Corp.

Amazing 40K Fortress

The pictures are from " The Terrainiacs" face books page.  The page is full of a amazing terrain. The best part lots of tutorials on how to create them.

The picture bellow are the work of Jayce Ackerman.   Never got to play 40k sadly.  I have piles of Spacemarines, Orks and dwarfs.

The IDF over the year had modified the M113 to match the needs of the IDF.  Pretty amazing to see all the different types.  As for me I'm still slugging away with them..

Mom what color should my Sagger 3 be?

Well since I'm on this cold war craze lately. My burning question was what is the color of a Sagger Anti missile. After doing some research Saggers are like Easter eggs they come in all colors.  Green, black or silver.  With the explosive end in a array of colors.   Looks you can paint these little bringers of tank death in your favorite color.

How tough is a Tiger tank armor?

From the pictures below I would say pretty darn tough.   The round is a 17lb shot the didn't make it through the armor plate.  I would bet the crew near that didn't survive.

Battle front Jagdpanthers and conversion to early models

I bought some of  battlefronts new Panther/jagdpanther  sets.   I was really surprised how nice they are. Plus being all plastic make the model open for conversions.   Having left over hulls from my PSC Panthers I noticed the rear deck might fit on the new Battle Front models.   It worked with some careful trim and cutting.  The deck plate was grafted on. Next was to sand the barrel down for the early model.   The conversion didn't take long time wise.  But I have a nice additional to German forces.

My early Jagdpanther with new deck from the PSC Panther.

Another view of the rear deck,  Added 3mm dia round hatch for the spent shells.
Also added the early type exhaust from  PSC kit
Top view that shows the deck and position of the cleaning tube

Reworked the 88mm barrel to the early type used in the first production Jagdpanther

In this picture I reversed installed the exhaust, This way I could install the PSC exhaust stacks
Picture of the rear with modification for the exhaust stacks
The sinks marks in the side shirts are deep.  I punched out 3mm dia disks

Finished kit out of the box. This is the late models.
